The best exercise and diet

It does not exist, despite what some people may say. Or does it? It is the one you can follow.

I am writing this down because I am sick and tired of hearing some phrases over and over again. "Running is the best exercise", "Vegan Diet is the best diet" etc. etc. etc. They are all wrong answers because there is no right question being asked here.

First thing is: What are your goals? Do you want to be marathon runner? Do you just want a sick physique? Are you only wanting a healthy and fit lifestyle? Do you want to be a powerlifter? Do calisthenics and those insane one hand pullups?

Only after you've decided what you want to do you can decide a training regime. If you want to be a runner, your training will be different than someone who just wants to look good, be healthy and strong. There is no best "exercise" or routine. You set goals and then set training regimes. You will need to understand the different tradeoffs that come. If you decide to only be a powerlifter, you will not be as good at running or cycling. Or be able to do handstands on one hand. There will be exceptions, but generally speaking you have to make tradeoffs. A runner will be relatively weaker in strength and smaller in size. Someone just looking for overall fitness will not be elite. It is how it is.

Same thing for diet. If for some moral reason you want to follow a vegetarian diet, go ahead and do your best. Same for meat or vegan or whatever. Work best with what you have available. The best diet is what you can follow sustainably. I know there are "claims" which say one diet is better than another diet, but really you just do the best you can with what you have. That does not mean eating fake food like Pizzas or whatever, we all can eat much better than that. The message I want to give is: there are no right answers. Set goals, recognize your limits and work within them. I have a guide here if you want to learn more.
